Jom Balik Kampung.......

bullet train

YTL proposes RM8 billion high-speed train link. Imagine zipping in a bullet train from the KL Sentral station into the heart of Singapore in 90 minutes flat. That is something that will become a reality if tycoon Tan Sri Francis Yeoh's plan to build and operate such a train service at a cost of up to RM8 billion takes off. Yeoh told the New Straits Times that the Malaysian and Singapore Governments had been informed of the proposal by YTL Corp for the fast train service. If approved, the project will become the largest to be launched on a private finance initiative (PFI) basis, as encouraged under the Ninth Malaysia Plan. Construction will take three years but it could be two years before cross-border approvals and land acquisition are obtained. It's the perfect alternative to air and land transport between the two hubs and will integrate them. Yeoh said the KL-Singapore fast rail link could be an extension of the Sentral-Kuala Lumpur International Airport train service that is currently operated by YTL majority-owned ExpressRail Link (ERL). The direct rail link will provide commuters with an alternative to expensive air travel and the slower journey by car or bus.

Teruja baca berita pasal fast train ni, walaupun aku dah tak menetap kat JB (my parents and families still are), but still bangga kalau projek ni menjadi. Ok, cukuplah cerita pasal politik ni, tetiba pula jadi emosional..... biasalah orang Johor, semangat "Hidup Melayu" tu sentiasa berkobar!

Tak sabar nak fly balik ke JB esok. Banyak program dah plan, firstly esok malam nak buat surprise birthday dinner for my mom, dia tak tau pun anak sulong dia ni nak balik. Rindu nak makan Chinese foods kat Grand Straits Garden, nak beli Choc Banana cake kat Secret Recipe (kat Sarawak ni mana ada kedai tu). Anita dah tempah durian satu lori? Hukssss.... kenduri durian la ek. Ahad pi Singapore, nak ke Sim Lim, nak cari Laptop canggih, IT gadgets, nak shopping puas-puas, maklumlah sekarang ni kan ada Great Singapore Sale. Macam-macam dah ada kat kepala ni, nak beli perfume/cologne (Dunhill yang baru tu best, very musky), kasut (hopefully Timberland ada good sale)....panjang senarai ni. Isnin, lunch dengan ex-colleague PTP, nak makan seafoods kat Gelang Patah. Malam, will go to Istana TAB, then ajak YAM Tunku pi dinner, miss her so much, will ask the rest of friends join sekali, maybe kat Chismosa. Selasa, after lunch kena balik Miri. Will see how the plan goes.

i am with you about the bridge thing. Nampak sangat kebodohan menteri2 kita. Buang duit rakyat aje. Nasib baik I bayar zakat instead of income tax. Hopefully project YTL tu menjadi. YTL kan cash rich.

SPK - i punya geram dan hangin until now, pasal bridge tu la. kenapa menteri2 semua perlu takut pada KJ? Memang patut pun Tun M. marah sesangat, yang lelain tu tak der patriotism, tak der vision. Balik JB ni, sure I nak korek citer2 yang tersembunyi pasal bridge tu. I pun bayar zakat gak instead of Itax.

Coco - jom arrrr.... ikut balik kampung (tak pi dah tak macam 'kampung', kat town, so balik town la ek)

I lost faith in the govt since Tun M stepped down. Our govt now has no balls especially AB. Semua hipocrites. Anyway, sharelah juicy stories about the bridge. Doesn't make sense to me why the construction was stopped halfway after all the big hoo-haa.
