Sabah Adventure: Manukan & Sapi Islands

Manukan & Sapi Island Trip

The second largest state in Malaysia, Sabah is the northernmost province on the island of Borneo and together with Sarawak, is known as ‘east Malaysia’. Called the ‘Land below the wind’, probably due to it being situated just south of the typhoon belt it is a popular destination for people looking for something a little different from the rest of Malaysia. The Tunku Abdul Rahman Park comprises five idyllic islands which are only 10 to 25 minutes away from Kota Kinabalu by speedboat. These islands--Pulau Gaya, Pulau Sapi, Pulau Mamutik, Pulau Manukan and Pulau Sulug, offer stretches of white sandy beaches, crystal clear waters and some of the most diverse coral reefs and marine life in the world. They are ideal spots for picnicking, diving and snorkeling, particularly on Sapi and Manukan which have picnic facilities, and Mamutik where cabins are available for rental. Hari kedua we all semua dah siap-siap nak snorkelling di pulau. Selepas sarapan, kami berjalan kaki beberapa kilometer ke jetty ferry/boat. So we all decided untuk pergi ke 2 buah pulau, Manukan dan Sapi. Masa we all semua snorkeling tu tetiba semua kata badan rasa gatal-gatal, macam ada benda menggigit, goshhhh!!! rupanya ada microorganisme ala-ala obor-obor gituh, dah tak jadi nak snorkeling. Disebabkan bau bbq menusuk hidung dan lapar, we spend RM300 for our lunch. Macam tak berbaloi plak...

Next island is Sapi, sooooooooooo....... beautiful. Kena tidur awal sebab esok nak pi White Water Rafting. To view slideshow of Manukan and Sapi Islands, click button: View slideshow
